Experience the finest cider and apple products.
In 1587, English settlers established the very first European colony in "The New World" right here on Roanoke Island, located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It is widely believed that the colonists at Fort Raleigh created the first alcoholic beverages here, using locally sourced apples & pears to create cider & perry from recipes brought over from back home on the British Isles.
Three years later, in 1590, English resupply ships returned to Roanoke Island to discover that the colony had mysteriously disappeared without a trace. Ever since, the "Lost Colony of Roanoke" has become known to history as "America's Oldest Mystery."
At Outer Banks Cider Company, we strive to recreate the original "Old World" recipes from The Roanoke Colony to produce historically accurate cider and perry that reflect the history and heritage of Roanoke Island.
